Therapy Payment Policy

Payment is due the day services are rendered and a credit/debit card is required to be kept on file with our secure electronic health record. You may also elect to keep an HSA or FSA card on file to use to pay for your therapy fees. Your card will be run on the day of your scheduled therapy appointment. If you have a late cancel with less than 24 hours’ required notice or a “no show” for your appointment, your stored credit/debit card will be billed for the full session fee.

Spiritual Direction Fees

Fees for Spiritual Direction are $100/50-minute session. Fees are due at time of service and may be paid by stored credit card, check, cash or Venmo.

Spiritual Direction is not mental health care and is not payable by HSA or FSA funds and is not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

Do you take insurance?

Headwaters of Healing Therapy is out-of-network with insurance companies, which means we do not bill insurance companies. Your therapy services may be eligible for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, medical spending, or health care savings accounts. If you plan to submit therapy expenses to your insurance provider for out-of-network benefits, you are responsible for doing so. A superbill will be provided upon request. Health insurance plans and benefits vary, so check with your insurance provider about reimbursement for your therapy services.

What are the benefits of paying privately/out of pocket?

Paying for therapy privately gives you greater control and flexibility in your care. You can choose the approach that best fits your needs, without being limited by a diagnosis, treatment plan, or session length or type restrictions imposed by insurance companies. It also ensures greater confidentiality, as there’s no need to share your records with an insurer. Additionally, you can avoid the labels and clinical diagnoses often required by insurance, which could affect other aspects of your life. This way, therapy remains focused on your healing, free from external constraints.
